SOME PRELIMINARY INFORMATION
In ancient times, including Jesus’ time, the Arabian peninsula was considered part of what we now call Africa, not “the Near East” or “the Middle East”.
Americans and modern Europeans tend to think of a genealogy as a simple chronological list of ancestors and descendants; hence, many skeptics are quick to point out omissions in biblical genealogies and claim those are “proof” that the Bible is not reliable.
It is important to note that in ancient times genealogies were not always simple “family histories”. They served numerous purposes, e.g.:
The segmented genealogy describes more than one line of descent from an ancestor. It charts alliances among peoples and may serve a variety of different functions in the areas of confederations, intermarriage, habitations, possessions of land, and war.
Segmented genealogies were used for domestic purposes by mirroring changes in the society, and for religious reasons related to celebrating some festival. They were also used for political and legal purposes revealing ethnic alliances. Since the group was more socially powerful than the individual, relationship to the group enhanced one’s social power. This made ethnic relationships essential for effectuating treaties and alliances. Thus, family tree records were pressed into the service of explaining the social and political relationships needed to defend and maintain the survival of the people.

I do not claim to be an expert on this topic, nor does this paper purport to be an exhaustive treatise on this subject. The main reasons I put the paper (slightly modified) on the site are:
Most English-language information on Christianity gives the false subliminal impression that Jesus was a dark-haired Anglo, (an American term referring to Caucasian Americans of generally northern European heritage, e.g., English, German, etc. “Anglo” is a term of ethnicity not race. It is a narrower term than “white” or “Caucasian”. For instance, medium-dark skinned persons from India, Pakistan, etc., are definitely Caucasian but would not be considered Anglo.)
Christianity is frequently portrayed as “the White Man’s religion”. The truth is that most of the people in the Bible were people of color (i.e., not “Anglo”): Semitics, blacks, and Mediterranean, e.g., Romans.
I spent a lot of time researching and writing this (about 30 hours), because so little material is available.
Very little information is readily available in print.
Virtually all the printed works on this topic are very biased: American and European biblical scholars like to pretend that Jesus was Anglo, and black Bible scholars who write on this topic give the impression that everybody in the Bible was dark black with pronounced negro features.
Like most Anglos, I was quite surprised to find out that Jesus does have black ancestry.
I know it’ll really bug a lot of Anglos who feel superior to people of color because “Jesus was white.” (i.e., Anglo).
(Incidentally, since I know people will wonder . . . I’m half German and half Italian. I attend a Protestant black church and also a congregation of Messianic Jewish and gentile believers because those are where the Lord led me.)

THE ORIGIN OF MANKIND AFTER THE FLOOD
According to Genesis 9:19 and the Table of Nations in Genesis 10, all mankind is descended from the three sons of Noah: Shem, Ham and Japheth.
The descendants of Japheth, the youngest son, settled in Anatolia, modern Turkey, and from there moved into the Caucasus mountains of Western Russia and from there settled Europe and Russia. They are the ancestors of the Caucasian peoples. Their main impact on Israel was through the Persians, the Greeks and the Romans.
Ham’s descendants became the various black peoples who settled the African continent and parts of the Arabian peninsula. His sons were Cush, whose descendants settled in Ethiopia, Mizraim, whose descendants settled in Egypt, Put, whose descendants settled in Libya, and Canaan, whose descendants settled in Palestine and founded the cities of Sidon, Tyre and Carthage and, among others, were the ancestors of the Phoenicians.
Collectively, in ancient times the descendants of Cush formed a large ethnic group and were the main populace of the Cushite Empire, which extended from present-day western Libya to Ethiopia and Nubia, south of Egypt, all of present-day Egypt, and the Arabian peninsula into the mountains of Turkey. They spoke a variety of languages and had skin pigmentation ranging from dark black to medium brown.
One of Cush’s sons was Nimrod, founder of Babylon, Akkad, Assyria and Nineveh, several of early mankind’s most powerful nations and cities. Their languages are generally referred to as belonging to the Western Semitic group, although they actually are Hamitic.
Mizraim’s descendants became the Ludim, Anamim, Lehabim, Naphtuhim, Pathrusim, and Casluhim [Philistines]. According to the Jewish-Roman historian Flavius Josephus, most of these peoples were destroyed in the Ethiopic Wars.

THE MYTHICAL ‘CURSE OF HAM’ AND THE ACTUAL CURSE OF CANAAN
It is often claimed that the black race resulted from a curse that Noah placed on his son Ham because Noah became drunk with wine and Ham “looked upon his father’s nakedness.” Some scholars interpret this as a euphemism and believe that Ham had homosexual intercourse with his father; others believe the reason for the curse was the disgrace Ham caused by telling others. The claim is that the curse turned Ham black on the spot. In any event, Genesis 9:25-27 records that in fact Noah cursed Ham’s youngest son, Canaan, not Ham: [25] he said, “Cursed be Canaan! The lowest of slaves will he be to his brothers.” [26] He also said, “Blessed be the LORD, the God of Shem! May Canaan be the slave of Shem. [27] May God extend the territory of Japheth; may Japheth live in the tents of Shem, and may Canaan be his slave.”
Canaan’s descendants founded Sidon and, among others, were the ancestors of the Jebusites, Amorites, Girgashites, Hivites, Arkites, Sinites, Arvadites, Zemarites and Hamathites. There is ample historical evidence that indeed they were cursed with moral depravity including temple prostitutes and human sacrifice. One scholar, Lenormant, said of the Canaanite religion: “No other people ever rivaled them in the mixture of bloodshed and debauchery with which they thought to honor the Deity.” (per Summary of Near Eastern History, cited below.)
Shem’s descendants became the Semitic peoples who settled parts of the Arabian Peninsula, including what is now Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Jordan, Israel, and Lebanon. They were of a generally medium-brown complexion with facial features roughly mid-way between typical negro and typical Caucasian and the languages they spoke included Arabic, Hebrew, and Aramaic, Jesus’ native language.

THE LINEAGE OF JESUS FROM NOAH
Jesus descended from the line of Shem; His lineage from Noah through Abraham is shown in Genesis 11:10-27 and Luke 3:34-38: Noah, Shem, Arphaxad, Cainan, Salah, Eber, Peleg, Reu, Serug, Nahor, Terah, Abram a.k.a Abraham.
Jesus’ lineage from Abraham through David is shown in Matthew 1 and Luke 3: Matt 1:[2] Abraham, of Ur of the Chaldees & Sarah, Isaac & Rebekah, Jacob & Leah, [3] Judah & Tamar [Canaanite ?], Perez, Hezron, [4] Ram, Amminadab, Nahshon, [5] Salmon & Rahab [Canaanite], Boaz & Ruth [Moabite], Obed, [6] Jesse, David & Bethsheba, who probably was a non-Hamitic Hittite **. (Moabites were Semitic — descendants of Abraham’s nephew Lot; see Genesis 20:36-37.)
(**Note: This page used to say that, historically, there are two unrelated peoples called “Hittites” — one descended from Ham, (Hamitic) and one from Japheth and the Japheth group were Caucasian. Having researched this further, I don’t think that is correct. The Hittites are among the oldest of the Indo-European peoples. They are Japhethic, not Hamitic. This site has information on the Hittites.)
Rahab was a contemporary of Joshua, successor to Moses. Seventy Israelites went into captivity in Egypt and during the 400 years the Israelites were in captivity in Egypt they and their descendants intermarried with non-Israelites. (The Israelites were in Egypt 430 years, 400 in captivity.) The group of over 600,000 men plus women and children that left Egypt under Moses was a “mixed multitude”. Ethnically, their ancestors were a combination of Hamitic Egyptians and Semitic Israelites. Although the Bible lays out Jesus’ ancestors through Shem, it does not mention that His ancestors’ would have had Hamitic blood from this intermixing, e.g. on their mothers’ sides.

THE BLACK PRESENCE IN JESUS’ LINEAGE
Jesus’ male ancestors trace a line from Shem. However, ethnically and racially, they were mixed Semitic and Hamitic from the times spent in captivity in Egypt and Babylon.
Rahab and probably Tamar were Canaanites. Although Canaanites spoke a Semitic language, they were descendants of Ham through his son Canaan. Bethsheba, who had been the wife of Uriah the Hittite, probably was a Hamitic Hittite herself.
In the United States today the general view on whether someone is “black” is the One-Drop Rule — if a person has any black ancestors s/he is considered “black”, even with a clearly Anglo skin color, e.g., Mariah Carry, Vanessa L. Williams, LaToya Jackson. (cf., for example, The Politics of Egyptology and the History Kemet (Egypt))

THE THEOLOGICAL SIGNIFICANCE
In Old Testament times the first son had the right of preeminence, the right to inherit the best of what his father owned. As first-born son of Abraham, Shem and his descendants had that right. As first-born Son of Jehovah, Jesus has that right. In Ezekiel, e.g., 5:5-7 God condemns Israel, saying that it has been more unfaithful than the Gentiles. Yet Jesus was entitled to the best the Father had. During the period from Noah to the Cross, God was preparing for His only Son a worthy inheritance. Also, regarding Israel, God had covenanted with Abraham:
Genesis 17:7-8 “[7] I will establish my covenant as an everlasting covenant between me and you and your descendants after you for the generations to come, to be your God and the God of your descendants after you. [8] The whole land of Canaan, where you are now an alien, I will give as an everlasting possession to you and your descendants after you; and I will be their God.”
It has also been noted:
The prophesy of the moral and spiritual history of the nations in Genesis 9 furnishes an indispensable introduction to the principle that underlies the table of the nations in Genesis 10. The principle is that in divine dealings the moral character of a thing cannot be understood unless its source is known. Israel was in God’s mind the medium of redemptive blessing to the world, and it was necessary for the nation to understand the source from which the various nations that surrounded her sprang, in order that she might have an insight into their character, thereby to guide her attitude and conduct toward them. This moral and spiritual principle underlying Genesis 10 makes it unique. (Summary of Near Eastern History by R.P. God used the Hamitic descendants in Egypt and Babylon and the Japhethic descendants in Rome to train and castigate Israel, to “bring it through the fire” and “remove the dross”. (In metallurgy, certain metals are refined by melting them. Impurities rise to the top and are skimmed off. This layer of impurities is known as ‘dross’.)
God used the Shemitic and Japhethic descendants to fulfill Noah’s curse on Canaan and His promise to Abraham, giving the land of Canaan’s descendants to Israel and destroying the Phoenicians with Alexander the Great (Tyre) and Rome (Carthage).
At the Tower of Babel mankind tried to make itself great independent of God, so God confused man’s language. At Pentecost, God showed that men, even descendants of Canaan, can only be brought together in Him.
God used Jesus, a descendant of cursed Canaan, to redeem the Elect, showing that people need not be bound by generational curses if they trust and rely on God for deliverance.

That is stupid. Think about this:
1: The Hebrew word translated as “man” is “Adam”. Adam means “Ruddy; to blush or turn rosy”. Only Whites can do that.
2: Esau was “read and Hairy”. I have never seen a red haired Black man before.
3: The Mummy of Joseph, son of Jacob, was found. He had BLONDE hair.
4: King David is discribed as being “ruddy” in 1 Samuel and 2 Samuel. “Ruddy” means to Blush.
5: Blacks often use the quote from the Book of Revelation as “proof” for a Black Jesus. It says Jesus’ hair was White AS wool, it mentions nothing of the texture. The first quote from the Book of Revelation posted points at the “eyes were like a flame of fire”. Please find me any man of any color whose eyes are on fire or like fire? They say how it mentions his feet being the color of bronze, But they leave out the part about BURNISHED and GLOWING. Polished BRONZE is the color of fine GOLD. And if it was glowing, it would be white hot.
What about the part saying: “His HEAD and His HAIR were WHITE”? Some people are not reading their Bibles.

LOL, you have no insight into the Hebrew language! Ruddy in Hebrew means black or reddish like the soil! How can Adam be white? the bible says he was made from the soil! Not sand but soil.

All the white observers ,Herodotus and co say the Egyptians and the Hebrews then were BLACK and wooly headed. All the first representations of Mary and Christ are Black,Solomon was BLACK and beautiful so were did your white Jesus come from?BLACK and Wooly headed,even the Bible still has that. Jesus looked like a modern day Kurd – considering what we know about genetics. The line of Shem mixed with Egyptians, later Canaanites, and later still, Babylonians, and more recently, Europeans… The Kurds are probably the closet to Abraham on a genetic level (these people still live where Abraham came from). It makes sense to me that the line from which Jesus Christ came from was pure – maybe not, who knows. Anyway, if you had to pick a face for Christ, pick a Kurd face. Do a google search on Kurds if you want to know what that looks like – not white European and not black African.
Dude, you seem so determined to put a “very black” face on Jesus. Is that the only way you can accept Jesus? If it is… Bottom line, he was a man, God in the flesh. He is my hero, whether He was as white as Larry Byrd or black as Michael Jordon – but he was probably neither.
Here is a face of Jesus for you. It is in black and white – no color. I looked to the Kurds to justify my choice of the features. And I will look to them in determining hair, skin and eye colors.

All I have to say is bill you are in denial. There is nothing in the so call Jewish Torah to suggest that the patriarchs were Eurocentric. Hey! going back to to the story of Joseph the son of Israel/ Jacob. Joseph dwelled in Egypt in the house of the then Pharoah. The Egyptians were known through research, which white scholars will state to be black. Joseph blended in to the point that his brethren when they came to the house of
Pharoah was unable to recognize him. If Joseph was white among blacks and the Hebrew Isralites were white then his brethren would have recognized a white man in the house of blacks. The only roman coins I have seen have had images of emperors on them and they looked Italian or Arabic.

We confess to a certain lack of interest in the subject,but are forced in self-defense to publish this note from the Cambridge Encyclopedia Company concerning their coin collection;

Whatever the fact,this coin places beyond dispute the belief that Jesus Christ was a Negro. The coin is otherwise of great historical interest:for it was the cause of a war between Justinian and Abdul Malik, 5th caliph of the Onniads, the former demanding tribute to be paid in these same coins and the latter refusing”.

It amazes some of us that white people find it so hard to accept that Blacks were made in the image of our father in heaven. I guess to accept this as truth, they would have to live with the fact of how horrendous they and their past generations have treated blacks for decade and whats awaits them on judgement day according to God’s word.
One of the facts scripture gives us about Israel is in regard to their physical appearance. Throughout scripture Israel is described as physically looking like the sons of Ham (Khawm) in appearance.
Ham was one of Noah’s three sons, Shem and Japheth were the other two. Noah’s descendants repopulated the earth after the Great Flood. Ham’s descendants are traced to the families of Africa. Ham (Khawm) in Hebrew means BLACK, HOT AND BURNT.
Ham had four sons….1. CUSH (Ethiopians / Cushites & Nubians),
2. MIZRAIM (Egyptians / Khemet), 3. PHUT (Ancient Somalia),
4. CANAAN (Canaanite, the original inhabitants of the land of Israel) genesis 10:6-19.
All four of Ham’s sons and their descendants settled in and around the continent of Africa, this includes the so called Middle East which is also a part of the Continent of Africa. Ham sons are the people of the African continent, the Ancient Egyptians, Ethiopians, Somalia’s, Canaanites etc etc.

None of the figures mentioned in the bible were blacks. Im a middle eastern and Im not black none of my ancestors were ever black neither were the ancient egyptians. Blacks have nothing else to do then steal other peoples histories. Middle eastern peoples were always semitic, the blacks that now live in the middle east are the descendants of the slaves who were brought by slave traders and african refugees who work in the middle east.

Hassan,that’s a very evil and RACISIT thing to say comming from a mid- eastern. You are right though,you’re not Black and according to many Black historians on African studies;viz,Cheikh Anta Diop, Chacellor Williams, Carter Godwin Wilson, John G. Jackson and Yosef Ben- Jochannan, just to name a few; who has mentioned in many of their books that Egypt, north Africa and the middle eastern peoples are not the original people of 5000 years ago, as the people of Amerikka aren’t the original people of 500 years ago. As a matter of fact, You are of the invaders who came into ALL OF AFRICA to conquer and destroy the people,land in order to rape and rob the resources. So you are of your father(s) Romans,Greeks,Constantine and Bonaparte who conquered from the Greek period, Roman period, Byzantine period through the Islamic period- after 1952. Hasan,Sorry that no one informed you of the true history of the middle east,BLACK Egypt,etc.-all of these areas were inhabited first by the BLACK RACE. The Greeks through Herodotus have all said it. Your ancestors Arabs came in much later and drove out many of the original BLACK tribes there. But then again Arabs today have their BLACK members who were the original Arabs still there,as the Mothers of your group. Definitely Arabs are half BLACK and originally BLACK! Arabia the Daughter of Kush
The classical Greek and Roman writers commonly accepted the division of Arabia into Deserta (desert), Felix (happy), and Petraea (stony). Not much is known today about the exact configuration of those divisions. Later day Islamic Arabic geographers know nothing of this division, and this is not surprising since many of those later day Arabs are actually immigrants that later acculturated and assimilated into the culture of the original Black Arabs.
Arab geographers of the Islamic period divided Arabia generally into five provinces: The first is Yemen, embracing the whole south of the peninsula and including Hadramaut, Mahra, Oman, Shehr, and Nejran. The second is Hijaz, on the west coast and including Mecca and Medina, the two famous centres of Islam. The third is Tehama, along the same coast between Yemen and Hijaz. The fourth is Nejd, which includes most of the central table-land, and the fifth is Yamama, extending all the wide way between Yemen and Nejd. This division is also inadequate, for it omits the greater part of North and East Arabia.
A more recent division of Arabia, according to politico-geographical principles, is into seven provinces: Hijaz, Yemen, Hadramaut, Oman, Hasa, Irak, and Nejd. It has always been the assertion of experts that certain tribes that lived on the coast of Yemen and on the coast of Ethiopia and Eriteria were almost identical. The linkages between Ethiopia Kush and Arabia must be considered in the context of any discourse on Arab people, or more precisely stated the Black Africans of Arabia.
Ethiopia-Kush
As stated in the preceding paragraph, the key to understanding the origin and culture of the Arabs is through African Kushitic Ethiopia.
Contacts between eastern Africa and Arabia have existed since the time immemorial. Archeological evidence has demonstrated that Africans of the Caspian culture probably moved across the Strait of Bab El Mandel and implanted the same Caspian culture in Arabia on the other side of the strait. See Leaky, L.S.B., Stone Age Africa pp 38-78.
The Strait of Bab-El-Mandel, which separates Africa from Arabia, is quite narrow at some points averaging a couple of days journey on a sea raft or small canoe. Communication and travel have consequently been possible since pre-historic times.
It will thus not be a surprising claim to the well informed that East African people (being the first aboriginals of the earth) have long settled in Arabia as the original inhabitants. For instance, besides the Caspian culture, African people also founded the so-called Afro-Arabian Tihama cultural complex in the mid-2nd millennium.
In addition to the coastal site of Adulis in Eritrea and sites farther inland in Eritrea, Ethiopia, and Sudan, vestiges of the Tihama cultural complex are represented on the Saudi coastal plains and the western and southern coasts of Yemen. (Fattovich 1997).
Moreover, African settlements were further stimulated by the growth of the Egyptian state from the 4th millennium onward, with more extensive migration of African population in Arabia around the 3rd and 2nd millennia B.C. Semitic speaking settlers from Ethiopia-Kush settled in Arabia built complex cultures and civilizations of which the later Assyrians, Greeks, Romans and Jews would document for coming generations. Long before Yemen had become a politically articulated entity, the Ethiopian-Axumites had built many powerful states along the coast of Red Sea and the hilly countries of Ethiopia such as ancient Adulis, Coloe, Yeha Tokanda, and the so called Ethio-Sabean state of Daamat (circa 800-600 B.C.) etc. Ethiopia-Axum, the ancient dominant power in the region, gradually incorporated the African-Yemenites into its political sway. By 12th century B.C. Southern Arabia fell under the complete control of the Ethiopian-Axumites through their long domination of the Red Sea trade routes. The first kingdom built by the Ethiopian-Axumites in Arabia was Saba just across the straits in Yemen in 800 B.C. See Ephraim Isaac and Cain Felder, “Reflections on the Origins of the Ethiopian Civilization”, Eight International Conference of Ethiopian Studies, November 1984. Successive civilisations of Mineans, Sabaeans and Himyarites interacted closely with their counterparts in Ethiopia.
For a while the Ethiopian-Kushitic Arabs focussed their energies on the Yemeni side of the coast in states like Saba and Daamat. Products were shipped into Yemen from Ethiopia and exported all over the world through the Red Sea.
Following the decline of Saba and Daamat, the international trade hub moved to the kingdom of Axum on the opposite side of the Red Sea coast. From its seaports such as Adulis, Ethiopian-Kushites, Axum’s trade network extended from Egypt as far as India.
Axum survived for more than 2500 years as a great state dominating the Red Sea regions although western historians would grudgingly concede 800 years. It occupied and ruled southern Arabia for part of this period. Utilitarian Aksumite pottery has been found in large quantities in deposits from the 5th and 6th centuries in the Yemen Hadramawt, suggesting that there may have been substantial immigration during that period. Axumites descended groups such as the Habashahs, still live in southern Yemen today fully cognizant of their African origins and connections.
Indeed, interaction between Yemen and Ethiopia in ancient times is sometimes compared with the historical relationship between Europe and America, with the Red Sea as substitute for the Atlantic Ocean.
THE BEJA PEOPLE: HABITAT AND HISTORY
Another important group of Black African groups who contributed genetically, and culturally to the formation of the Arabs are the Bejas otherwise called the Blemmyes. It appears that the Blemmyes as encountered in classical literature provided the foundation for the ethnic group known today as Bedouins.
The indigenous Beja people are nomads who have inhabited the semi-desert area in the Red Sea coast of Sudan and the hilly country behind it for thousands of years. The ancient Egyptians referred to them as the people of Buka or Medju (Medjay), the Romans dubbed them Blemmyes and in the Odessa they were described as Erembes. They are a Kushitic-Khemitic people who spoke a mixed dialect of semitic and Cushitic language. They identify themselves today as the most original and ancient of the Arab tribes.
Kemitic Pharaohs called them Absha, meaning ‘the desert dwellers’ – that is, the Bedouins in Arabic language – and Ramses II called them Beja, purporting fighters’. Thus one can reasonably see the Bejas as fulfilling the Arab Bedouin archetype of the fearsome, nomadic owners of the Sahara, highly temperamental but compassionate. Throughout history, they have been regarded as very efficient fighting machines. It is important to note that besides the Nubians, it is well documented that the Beja were employed in the Egyptian army and were credited for their courage and fortitude during the expulsion of the Hyksos from Egypt.
The Roman Historian Ammianus Marcellinus inspite of his odious ethno-centrism provides us more clues on the racial and ethnic identity of the earliest Arabs. In his book The Roman History, Book XIV.iv.1-7. (380 A.D.)) the Saracens a named that was used to describe the Arabs in both ancient and modern times (stems most likely from the Arabic Sarqiyyun, meaning ‘easterners’) were described as the Blemmys tribes who lived along the banks of the Nile beyond the cataracts. According to Ammianus Marcellinus:
“Book XIV.4:
At this time also the Saracens, a race whom it is never desirable to have either for friends or enemies, ranging up and down the country, if ever they found anything, plundered it in a moment, like rapacious hawks who, if from on high they behold any prey, carry it off with a rapid swoop, or, if they fail in their attempt, do not tarry. And although, in recounting the career of the Prince Marcus, and once or twice subsequently, I remember having discussed the manners of this people, nevertheless I will now briefly enumerate a few more particulars concerning them.
Among these tribes, whose primary origin is derived from the cataracts of the Nile and the borders of the Blemmyae, all the men are warriors of equal rank; half naked, clad in colored cloaks down to the waist, overrunning different countries, with the aid of swift and active horses and speedy camels, alike in times of peace and war. Nor does any member of their tribe ever take plow in hand or cultivate a tree, or seek food by the tillage of the land; but they are perpetually wandering over various and extensive districts, having no home, no fixed abode or laws; nor can they endure to remain long in the same climate, no one district or country pleasing them for a continuance.
Their life is one continued wandering; their wives are hired, on special covenant, for a fixed time; and that there may be some appearance of marriage in the business, the intended wife, under the name of a dowry, offers a spear and a tent to her husband, with a right to quit him after a fixed day, if she should choose to do so. And it is inconceivable with what eagerness the individuals of both sexes give themselves up to matrimonial pleasures.
But as long as they live they wander about with such extensive and perpetual migrations, that the woman is married in one place, brings forth her children in another, and rears them at a distance from either place, no opportunity of remaining quiet being ever granted to her. They all live on venison, and are further supported on a great abundance of milk, and on many kinds of herbs, and on whatever birds they can catch by fowling. And we have seen a great many of them wholly ignorant of the use of either corn or wine.”
The Black African Bejas/Saracens also called the Blemmys gave to the Arabs of today (blacks and pales) the knowledge to live in the Sahara as well as the most basic cultural elements that define the Bedouin culture including nomadic identity, marital culture and martial arts. For instance, the war-like Blemmyes (Beja) had normally fought with curiously shaped bows, and it was from them that the tribes of Hijaz and Yemen (in Arabia) – and the other Arab tribes – adopted the use of the bow. Historically, the Beja ruled the vast territory of theirs (laying between Northern Nigeria and Sudan) in five kingdoms – namely, the Naqis, Baqlin (Taflin), Bazin, Jarin and Qat’a (Qit’a, also perhaps Qas’a).
Arabia Petra
Arabia Petra spread between African Kushitic Egypt and Mesopotamia (another African kushitic area in the ancient times) (Josephus). It was originally settled by an early branch of the Cushitic Ethiopian people who spoke a proto-type semitic dialect.
The Beja’s known as the ancient Blemmyes one of the earliest known nomadic tribes to dwell in the deserts of Africa and Arabia probably provided the founding population of Arabia Petra.
Other sections of the African population from the early Caspian culture and other culture complex centered on Ethiopia Axum and Ethiopia Kush may have equally contributed to the early settlement of Arabia Petra.
Some of these early African Black Arabs crossed the Red Sea whilst others migrated overland through the Nile valley into Arabia. Arabia Petrea thus became an early blending pot of African cultures. Due to this cultural ferment many nomads soon abandoned their wandering lives to establish sophisticated towns and cities together with the more sedentary population. During the Roman period, the word Arab was a synonymy for Nabatean and vice versa. When the Romans incorporated Nabatea into their Empire, it was officially designated as the Province of Arabia. Numerous sculptures found in Arabia Petra clearly depict its population as African through their physical features. One classical example is that of Emperor Philip of Arabia one of the later Emperors of Rome, who was indigenous to Arabia Petra. His sculptures demonstrate that physically speaking, Emperor Philip of Arabia was a Black man of African descent.
Arabia Felix
Arabia Felix laid further south of Petra. Arabia Felix was bounded by the Shiraz region of the Persian Gulf, the Eritrean or Red sea (Africa) as well as the Indian Ocean. This country was rich in spices and in it was situated the famous cities of Mecca and Medina.
Here was the country of the Yemenis, the Habashas, the Sabas, the Hadramautians and the Mineans. All these were sections of the Ethiopian-Axumite tribes similar to the Amharas, the Oromos and the Tigriyeans, who had expanded the ancient lucrative spice trade to Arabia.
It should be noted that in addition to coffee, Ethiopia is the original homeland of incenses such as frankincense, myrrh, and spices like cinnamon. The traditional African planters of these cash crops and the African maritime operators of this most lucrative of ancient trades extended their operations from Ethiopia across the straits of Bab-el-Mandel to take advantage of the fertile land and the natural habours of Arabia Felix, which subsequently became export hubs of the ancient trade. (See Strabo,geography Book XVI.iv.19). Produce was shipped routinely from the highlands of Ethiopia into Ethiopian owned- Arabia Felix for exports to the rest of the world.
Given the historical, genetic, physical and geographical proximity between Ethiopia and Arabia Felix and the similarity of the cultural expression of both land, it is not a wonder why the ancient Greek writers swore that the Ethiopians ruled the whole of Arabia. It was clear to the sophisticated Greeks and the worldly Romans that Black Africans settled and developed this portion of Arabia!
Arabia Deserta
Arabia Deserta was originally people by the Bejas and kindred groups from Africa. These are the original owners of the Sahara and its extension known as the Arabia Desert. The Bejas as we have seen from preceeding paragraphs were the first to be called Bedouins due to their nomadic culture and their preference for Desert habitats.
In the beginning of Holocene period, a group of landless, barbarian, starving, pale-skinned Central Asian refugees now known as the pale-skin Arabs (i.e. the so-called Semites) began living side by side with the nomadic African Cushitic Bejas who owned the entire Sahara desert between the Nile and the Arabian peninsula. Over the course of time these two peoples have intermingled culturally and genetically that there is barely any pale skin (Arabized) Arabs alive today that does not carry extensive Africa genes in his blood. The descendants of this intermingling are the so-called modern Semitic Arabs (more precisely known as the Arabized Arabs) who trace their roots through Abraham.
The Central Asian barbarians did not develop any states, high culture or language in Arabia. They were destitues, mostly ignorant, unread and illiterate. The Koran takes great pain to dissociate this group from the high cultural attainment of ancient Arabia. It is clearly stated that until the advent of the Islamic Prophet Muhammed, these so-called Semites lived in a state of perpetual brutality, savagery, warfare and robbery. The Koran also takes pain to identify the original Black Arabs who had lived in Ad, Thamud, Imru etc, as the originators and builders of Arab civilization and culture.
These Arabized Arabs have sublimated stories of their origin in the legend of Abraham, which narrates of his journey from somewhere proximate to central Asia into the Black African territory of Arabia. He was said to have married a Black Egyptian-born wife, Hagar/Hajir, and their son was named, Ishmael/Isma’il. In this legend one immediately becomes aware of the central Asian origin of its heros and the resultant miscegenation which gave rise to the Arabised Arabs.
These so-called descendants of Abraham (actually mix breed from Black African Bejas and pale central Asian-stanis like the Turkmenistanis) settled in Mecca which was then under the overlordship of the Kushitic-Ethiopic owners of Arabia-Felix. This category of Arabs normally called themselves ‘Adnaniyun – that is, after one of their great tribal ancestors Adnan.
Despite the mythical origin of this peculiar historical source, it is clear that conscious effort has been made by Arabized Arabs to associate their tribes to African Royal pedigree. Since it is generally known that Kushitic citizenship was matrilineal, and only children born by Kemitic Kushite mothers could aspire to be Kings in Egypt and Ethiopia, it does not take a lot of imagination to understand the role of the black Egyptian (Kemitic Kushite) Hagar in the Abraham story. The Arabized Arabs actually claim a Black African historical and archetypal mother! No wonder “Aswad” (Black) is such an attractive concept in Arabic language.

The Blemmyes were thought to have been just one of the Bedja tribes. Bedja or Medjayu was a more general name for the Afro-Semitic Cushitic people living on the African side of the Eritraean Sea. There were also the Adiabari, Megabari and other Barbari. The Anag’il of the Bedja are now called Danakil. Abraham’s people were very likely similar to the modern dark-skinned Mash’ai of Oman known to Josephus as Mash son of Aram. The Aramaeans of ancient times were the Amorites or Ammuru. Thus, according to the Biblical book Ezekiel – Israel’s mother was a Hittite and father was an Amorite. Both were early Canaanite peoples. Ham Shem and Japhet were all the same people 3500 years ago. The Syro-Aramaeans in the tomb of king Tut and Phoenicians in the temple art of the Egyptians show that they had the same pigment as the people of the ancient Egyptians, Puntites and some of the peoples of Nubia – A dark brown color with a copper or brick red caste.

Most white (European) respondents to the issue of Jesus being BLACK are actually puffed up with their own selfish pride and cannot see the obviuous truth. Firstly, there was never a JESUS, but Yeshua (Aramaic)/Yehoshua (Hebrew). JESUS is the European construction. Aramaic and Hebrew are Semitic languages. History shows that the so-called Semitic people are not racially pure; they have got mixed up with various African (Hamitic) and Babylonian races over time, e.g. during Egyptian bondage of Israel. Black does not necessarily mean skin colour here, but a socio-political position as well, as seen through the lens of Black Consciousness. Yeshua, in his liberating role, always identified with the downtrodden of this earth, but eventually conquered death and proclaimed victory over evil. If he had been white, then he would have promoted the brutal slave trade after the “discovery” of the New World, expeditions of discovery by Columbus and da Gama and, finally colonization of the so-called third world. Yeshua could have condoned the enslavement of the whole Earth through the system of globalization which does not benefit the local people economically and otherwise. This black Yeshua/Yehoshua would have condemned all such evils and the Caucasians of today would have crucified him as the ancient Romans did to the historical man, Yeshua. No matter how you look at this man, he refuses to be white, in spite of such a world-wide campaign to Europeanize and Aryanize him. If Arabs of Iraq (ancient Mesopotamia) are white, then Yeshua will be happy to remain white too because that’s where Abraham, his ancestor, came from. If ancient Egyptians and Babylonians, among which Israel was kept in captivity, had one drop of white blood in their vessels, then Yeshua can be white because Israel intermarried with these dark-skinned people. This comes to show that Africans are not the only black people on the planet and blackness is not about complexion but it signifies a soci-political position in the global power hierarchy which is cunningly and secretly presided over by the “omnipotent” Iluminati. So, white brethren and sistren, accept our Black Truth because it is here to stay and nobody can silence it.

i believe that and history tell you that africia is a black country and were predamentantly black in ancient time until the god change the language . A catholic missionary/invader named Fernandez reported in 1500 that the Ethiopian church art depicts Christ, the Virgin marry, the apostles and all of the angels black (Ethiopian) while Judas, Annas, Caphas, Pilate,Herod, the Jews and the devil white. The color white was not intended to represent the actual race of the aforementioned biblical characters; rather it was used to signify evil and wickedness. The Jews, of course were not actually white but depicted white because of their wickedness.
Even in Europe all of the earliest paintings of the baby Christ and the Virgin Mary has them as black. From Spain to Russia, the black virgin and Christ were worshiped and venerated. At that time, the consciousness of white supremacy had not fully developed, for it did not yet permeate their religious belief system.
In 1505 pope Julius the second commissioned the paintings of certain biblical works from artist Michelangelo and in doing so initiated the concept of God being white. The original blackness of the Virgin Mary was distorted to resemble a Florentine Italian women and from there on all of the other biblical characters was painted white.
The important question is: are the black images of Jesus and Mary accurate representations?
It is true that it doesn’t necessary mean they were black just because the black images predates the white images. However, evidence can be cited to authenticate the actual racial identity of Jesus and Mary in an old church tradition that says St Luke personally knew the mother of Christ and carved and painted most of the black virgins. It becomes more convincing when one considers that fact that this tradition is held by the Europeans themselves. Europeans would not have fabricated such source.

Furthermore, the term “middle east/ern” was invented by European map makers of the 19th century in order to fabricate an historical dissociation that region from Africa. The Suez canal which separates Africa from Israel was BUILT in the 1800’s. The bottom line is: Israel was a part of Africa and so was all other parts of the so-called “middle east”.

It doesn’t matter to me the skin color of our Christ. But it does seem logical to me He would be dark skinned. The message is the same to all of the human race. Don’t we all trace our lineage back to Africa? Wasn’t that the “beginning” of humankind?
I am of mixed race – Native American and northern European. I feel tho that the words “mixed race” is a dillusion. We all come from “the beginning” and branched all over the earth.

This process took many years. It started with the invasions to lower Egypt of Asians and mulatos (whites). That is when the mixing started because before that the whole continent of Africa was black with a few mulatoes that is white colors naturally in the race. I suggest you get a book by Chanellor Williams called The Destruction of the black civilization he is a good scholar on the subject of how whites changed the history to suit themselves.

i disagree and agree to many things on this page but i have read what mr. or ms. kai says and i must DISAGREE quite heartily. We as humans were ALL created as the image bearers of God, and that does NOT mean that God is like us in skin color or in appearence in any way! We DO NOT look like God. We show some of his divine characteristics, such as our logic, our compassion, our creativity even if we show these things in a corrupted way a lot, we are all created equal and my friend white people will meet the same type of judgement as other people. I agree with you. History has many facets and we need to study as many of those facets as we can instead of just one or two and believe it. In the Christian scriptures Paul tells us we are of one blood. This is all that matters to me. (There are many colors of roses but they are all still a rose with their own beauty as well as strengths and weaknesses.) If Jesus was black its ok with me. Logically, however, Jesus would have been darker considering the desert living and the sensitive skin of the white peoples.

If you go back and read the beginning story in Genesis carefully, you will see that the garden of Eden is in Africa. Think of where all the wild beasts and animals originated before many were put into zoos, precious gold and rubies found in the earth. When God told Adam that He had dominion over all the earth, including wild animals and fouls of the air, Adam did not have to leave the Garden, all of this was right there. Africa today is viewed as a horrible place to live, but a place where diamonds are unearthed could not have been meant for bad. The devil has worked so much evil in this place and he did it for a reason. Anything God loves, the devil HATES. For once, put aside pride and prejudice and be true to yourselves, use wisdom and you will know the truth. Black people (Afro descent) are hated above all races, why? We have natural features that many desire to have and God bestowed these features on us in His divine creation. umm, I am light-complexion with full lips and growing up, I thought I was ugly. Now that I am older and have been blessed with wisdom of the Holy Bible, I am wonderfully and fearfully made in the image of God. Yes, Ham’s youngest son Canaan was cursed by Noah and was told he would be a servant to his brothers, some of this has to do with things Blacks have endured and endure, BUT Blacks are powerful and many do not realize it due to the spirit of division. Shalom Brother and Sisters, the above verses have been used as tools of controversy for a while. This controversy has taken place among Israelites and Gentiles. Both have used the preceding scriptures to fit there understanding and doctrines. Both groups use the words red and ruddy to describe two nations of people. Let’s briefly look how the two sides justify what they teach concerning the words, Ruddy, and Red.
GENTILES AND RUDDY
Over the years I’ve come across gentiles who try to challenge our belief that ancient Israel was a black skinned people by referring to scriptures that mention the word ruddy. The one scripture in particular that is used quite often is the above one in 1st Samuel 17:42 which says: “And when the Philistine looked about, and saw David, he disdained him: for he was but a youth, and ruddy, and of a fair countenance.” This verse is giving us the description of our great king David. It says he was Young, ruddy and of a fair countenance or handsome. Gentiles single in on the word ruddy which they say means red, and take this to mean King David was White. Despite all the scriptural, historical and other evidence that proves the ancient biblical Hebrew- Israelites were a black skinned people. They say no this can’t be so, David is called Ruddy. The argument doesn’t make much sense at all. Because they view scriptures with a western European mindset, which by the way is the mindset of white supremacy. In their eyes if one Israelite is called ruddy, this means he was white, and this means all Hebrews are white. Now lets look at SOME Hebrews usage of the word red, then we will bring forth the truth concerning these matter.
HEBREWS AND RED
There are Hebrews who misapply the usage of the word red. This confusion is brought about through the misunderstanding about the birth of Isaac son Esau. Gen 25:24 And when her days to be delivered were fulfilled, behold, there were twins in her womb.
Gen 25:25 And the first came out red, all over like an hairy garment; and they called his name Esau.
Many Hebrews say the red mention in this verse is associated with white. They go as far to say Esau was a white man, some take it farther and say he is the father of the white European nations. Both are untrue.
The Hebrew word used to describe David as Ruddy is the same Hebrew word used to describe Esau as Red. This is the Hebrew word Admony Pronounce Ad-Mo_nee, it’s number 132 in the Strong’s concordance. The word means red or reddish. Both King David and Esau were Hebrews, scripture tells us the Hebrews are and were a black skinned nation. So how do these two Hebrews get associated with being white skinned Europeans? What does it mean by describing them as red?Admonee / ruddy has nothing at all to do with white skin, the word for white skin in Hebrew is laban, it means white or becoming white. Laban is used in Exodus 4: where Yah tells Moses to put his hand into his bosom, and it turns white as Snow. Laban is also used to describe Moses sister Miriam when Yah struck her with Leprosy and turned her entire body white (Numbers 12). It’s used once again to describe Gheazi being stricken with Leprosy and having his skin turn white in 2nd kings 5:27.Never once when it mentions Israelites being turned white with Leprosy, does it describe their skin as turning red or ruddy. That’s because red and ruddy is not associated with white skin. If the redness of David and Esau were associated with white skin, the word laban would have been used.One of our ancient mothers Rebekah, the wife of Isaac, and the Mother of Jacob and Esau had a brother name Laban. Laban was an albino, a black person born with white skin. Hint the reason for the name Laban or White.Gen 24:29 And Rebekah had a brother, and his name was Laban: and Laban ran out unto the man, unto the well. One point of great interest is this. Laban was the Uncle of Esau / Edom, Laban Name means white, Edom means Red (Admonee).
The Red associated with Esau appearance at birth is not white or Laban.The ancient Egyptians who were a black people portrayed themselves, some Ethiopians and Canaanites as reddish brown, this red is a mahogany color. this is a reddish brown bust of king TutTo the right are two Egyptian Tomb Drawing showing Egyptians with reddish brown complexions. Among ancient Black people, and among many black people today throughout the world. Red or ruddy was a complexion that would be Mahogany in appearance.
Lets prove this. In a Narrative written by a Slave name Oladuah Equino which can be found in a very good book called the Classic Slave Narratives.He gives us these details about some men who lived near his village in Nigeria West Africa.

WE CALL THEM OYE-EBOE, WHICH TERM SIGNIFIES RED MEN LIVING AT A DISTANCE.” classic slave narrative the life of Gustavus Vassa page 16. NOT ONLY ARE THESE NIGERIAN MEN CALLED RED BUT THAT RED IS COMPARED TO MAHOGANY.

The colour red in scripture is translated from several Hebrew words:
‘adam’ meaning dyed red, red or ruddy. To grow red or to emit (show) redness. ‘adom’ meaning red or ruddy (of man, horse, heifer, garment, water, lentils)
‘admoniy’ and ‘admowniy’ meaning red, ruddy for example of Esau as infant, we read “And the first came out red. He was like a hairy garment all over; so they called his name Esau.” Genesis 25:25

Red can be associated with trouble and punishment, ‘chamar’ means red, to be troubled, be in turmoil, foam up or ferment. An example can be found in the Psalms: “For in the hand of the LORD there is a cup, And the wine is red; It is fully mixed, and He pours it out; Surely its dregs shall all the wicked of the earth Drain and drink down.” Psalm 75:8
Red is also associated with judgement and warfare: “The shields of his mighty men are made red, The valiant men are in scarlet. The chariots come with flaming torches In the day of his preparation, And the spears are brandished.” Nahum 2:3 (see also Isaiah 62:1-6; Zechariah 1:8; 6:2; Revelation 6:1; 9:7)
Red is the colour of the dragon in Revelation that represents and symbolises the sinful and evil human governments and powers that crucified the Lord Jesus and continue to persecute the righteous: “another sign appeared in heaven: behold, a great, fiery red dragon having seven heads and ten horns, and seven diadems on his heads… the dragon stood before the woman who was ready to give birth, to devour her Child as soon as it was born. She bore a male Child who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron. And her Child was caught up to God and His throne.” Revelation 12:3-5

Hebrew ‘chuwm’ meaning a dark colour, darkened, dark brown or black. A colour referring to the markings on the wool of sheep or goats for example when Jacob agreed his wages with Laban:
