    Axe is “good energy”. The more axe you have, the more powerful or stronger you are spiritually. A person that has been made a priest in the religon since around birth is going to have more axe than a person that has been made a priest in their 30’s, and therefore will be able to do much more. They are much more powerful, and able to deal with such things that would be more dangerous to a person without as much axe.

    Agbede means blacksmith. Now bare in mind that since I don’t speak Yoruba that I am asking Yorubas to translate and different Yorubas will translate different ways cause Yoruba words can have 6 different meanings depending on the tone! So anyone out there that has another meaning please give us!

    I really greet you for a great job well done. E ku ise nla naa. I also want to point out that:
    i. there are some yoruba words in the dictionary that are in obscure dialect not of the popular [oyo-ibadan-ife] dialect

    ii. some spelling errors [in the yoruba words]

    I can be of help to prooof read to improve the dictionary texts.

    Hi,Pls I’m a Yoruba man and will like to know the English translation in a single word of IPIN (the milky coloured substance on eye when you wake up in the morning),LALA (spit from the mouth after waking early in the morning) and OSUKA (piece of cloth placed on head to cushion the weight of an object placed on head.I must confess you’re doing a great job there.Thanks,in anticipation.
