She got her black man? This must have been written before he shared info regarding their open marriage. That’s not the type of black man nor any man I want.
Looks to me Wyclef is all about appearances. He wants to give the illusion of embracing black skin and black love marrying a black woman but still act like the sexed crazed monkey the white man jokingly calls us
Then his Haiti relief fund where haiti is only actually receiving 1/5 of the proceeds. What a joke
Keep up the good looks Wyclef

MARIE- JUST BE THE BEST WIFE YOU CAN BE AND HE WILL ALWAYS CHERISH AND HONOR YOU AND WHEN THE OTHER WOMEN ARE LONG GONE YOU WILL REAP YOUR LOYALITY,LOVING,FORGIVING,VIRTUROUS,NATURE’S REWARD! BLACK-SKINNED WOMEN: QUEEN MOTHERS OF THE BLACK RACE AND ALL BEAUTY!
Why do I sing Praises of your Beautiful, Black, ebony, velvet skin,”Blacker than the sky at midnight”{1},your full mushroomed mouth, your beautiful broad nose, your generous “Congo hips” {2}and full-flowered backside? Because for too long many of the Black Race have abused, dishonored you, degraded and denied you your crown, Queen of Queens,Queen Mother of the Black Race, Black Beauty Supreme! From you all the beauty of the Black Race springs forth. In fact all the world’s beauty springs from you,Mother of all beauty of all the races of the world! Your Black midnight, licorice, dark black chocolate, beauty, is Blackness concentrated in your beautiful “Black-blueberry”{3} face!

First in the order of creation is always given respect by Afrikan tradition. The 1st wife, the 1st elder, the 1st kingdom, the 1st original inhabitants, of the earth-all are considered with honor. So it should be with Black Beauty-our darkest -skinned Sisters are the 1st Mothers of the Universe-Black as a color came before all the many tones of brown, red, yellow and white. But for too long our Dark-skinned Queens have not been given the respect and place of honor they deserve. IN FACT THE WHITE BOY HAS INTIATED the cycle of reversing the true order of things by turning upside down the pyramid of Beauty, and placing white-light on top and relegating the most beautiful Black-skinned Beauties to rock bottom!

So Black people have been taught well how to deny our most

beautiful one her crown, taught how to reject our Blackest, most Afrikan features, full lips and nose and mouth and woollest hair, for the weaker characteristics of the white race. Shame on Black people! When will we wake up to this Black Beauty concentrated, from whence all our lesser beauty comes. When will we give the crown of crowns, the throne of thrones, to the Blackest Queen of Queens?

Most of us who suffer from”mulatto-mentality” and “yellow fever”, as Fela, our great Nigerian Musician calls it, will go on and on about what about us lighter queens-aren’t we/they beautiful too, yet you/we should be aware that such queens have gotten all the play in the past and that even in Black Egypt one of the reasons for its downfall was the allowing the lighter ones of the race, to place themselves above the rest of us in the name of lightness and pride of light-closer/to/whiteness. So if we’re yellow,to light brown/red, then we should give respect where respect is due and not live off of the artificial white thrill of having “white features” as if it is an advantage. Where would you be without your BLACKEST great Grandmother? We should honor the Blackest past of ourselves, thus giving us true pride of Blackness, not verbal signifyin’ but real testifyin’ that BLACK is beautiful! If the Blackest, most Afrikan-featured Sister isn’t respected as the Supreme Beauty of the Race, the Black woman’s beauty is not really respected at all for what it really is(only in terms of how closer to white we look). We all reflect the strengths of this concentrated beauty in ourselves, all the manifestations of how Blackness can present itself are seen in our faces. Down to the milk-lightest of us, our Blackness is what dominates us whether physically or mentally. But the Mother is greater than the child and so the Blackest is greater than all the other tones of the Black Race. If we don’t respect our Blackest Queen, we don’t respect our True Black selves. We must have a Black value for BLACKNESS in features and skin tone. We must have a Black Standard of Beauty based on the Black-skinned woman. ALL PRAISES DUE TO OUR BLACK-SKINNED QUEEN-MOTHERS!

Constance,I KNOW THAT ALL THIS AGAIN WYCLEF ARE JUST WHITE LIES! HE HAS BEEN HELPING HIS COUNTRY SINCE HE BECAME FAMOUS,RISKING HIS LIFE IN GANG ENCOUNTERS AND DO SO DON’T BELIEVE THOSE LIES! FROM BET.COM

The amount of support of prayers and donations for the country of Haiti and its people has been astounding. The Red Cross and scores of other organizations have banded together to gather money and other essentials for the shell-shocked Haitian citizens. And while the outpouring of charity and goodwill towards Haiti is commendable, there’s been one organization that has been there from the beginning. Rapper, producer, and philanthropist Wyclef Jean has been raising money and awareness concerning Haiti’s struggles since 1994.

The Wyclef Jean Foundation also known as Yele Haiti has raised support for the impoverished country using Jean’s star power. In addition to putting on charity concerts, Jean has also used his celebrity to get A-list celebrities onboard with his cause. On January 22, the rapper will be co-hosting a “Hope for Haiti” all-star telethon that will air on nearly every network with actor George Clooney.

Jean is doing more than rubbing elbows with Hollywood A-listers however. He has also been asking for people to donate five dollars to the rescue and recovery effort by texting “Yele” to 501501 and that’s where the trouble’s been brewing. According to The Smoking Gun and the Washington Post, Yele Haiti’s financial records are questionable, even insinuating that Jean has been using the charity to line his own pockets.

The artist, who has been in Haiti helping recover the bodies of the dead, responded to his detractors Saturday via a six minute YouTube video. In the video, Jean calls the accusations an “attack on my integrity and my foundation.” To date the Wyclef Jean Foundation has raised over two million dollars in the wake of the natural disaster and looks to raise a lot more in the upcoming days.

Haitian-born singer Wyclef Jean has dismissed accusations of corruption in his Yele Haiti Foundation, calling them “baseless attacks”. The former Fugee refuted allegations that he and his partners have profited from the organisation’s previous development work. After the Haiti earthquake, Yele Haiti has become one of the most important aid groups, collecting around $2m (£1.23m) through SMS fundraising.

“I have been committed to helping the people of Haiti throughout my life, and that commitment will continue until the day I die,” Jean wrote on his website, with an accompanying video. “I denounce any allegation that I have ever profited personally through my work with Yele Haiti. These baseless attacks are simply not true.”

Concerns over the Yele Haiti Foundation began with a report by the Smoking Gun on Thursday, claming that over the last four years Jean and his partner have collected at least $410,000 ($252,000) from the organisation, paid out for rent, production services and a performance at a 2006 benefit concert. Until two months ago, Yele Haiti was allegedly known as the Wyclef Jean Foundation.

“It seems clear that a significant amount of the monies that this charity raises go for costs other than providing benefits to Haitians in need,” Dean Zerbe, a former tax counsel to the US senate finance committee, which oversees charities, told the Washington Post. In 2006, most of Yele Haiti’s reported $1m revenue came from Angelina Jolie, who donated proceeds from a People magazine photoshoot. More than a third of this money went to parties linked to Jean and other board-members, according to the Post.

“I never, or would ever, take money for my personal pocket when it comes to Yele,” Jean insisted, claiming to have donated at least $1m of his own money to the charity. To date, the group has provided scholarships, funded a Haitian football team, and employed women to cook at schools. After a 2008 storm, it helped community networks distribute food to 6,000 families, according to foundation president Hugh Locke, using local expertise instead of aid workers. Next week, they plan to use a FedEx aeroplane to airlift medical supplies, water and Clif Bars from Miami to Port-au-Prince.

While Yele Haiti has benefited from several gala fundraisers, including a forthcoming telethon co-hosted by Jean and George Clooney, most of their money was collected in an SMS campaign. Americans donated $5 to the foundation by texting the word “Yele” to a designated number. “I think people should be comfortable that any money given to Yele Haiti is going 100% to emergency relief,” Locke said.

But critics point to incidents like the 2006 payment of $250,000 (£154,000) to Telemax, a for-profit TV station and production company in which Jean and Jerry Duplessis, both Yele directors, had a controlling interest. The charity also paid $31,000 (£19,000) in rent to Platinum Sound, a Manhattan recording studio owned by Jean and Duplessis, and $100,000 (£61,500) for Jean’s performance at a Yele benefit in Monaco.

A Yele public relations spokesman said that the Telemax money was used for “everything from public-service announcements to educational programming”, and as at Platinum Sound, it offered the organisation “a significant discount”. As for the Monaco concert, Locke said the $100,000 included all production expenses, including back-up musicians.

Another Smoking Gun report has found that the Yele Haiti Foundation had its corporate status dissolved on four occasions over the last five years. The charity was repeatedly sanctioned by the Florida Division of Corporations for failing to provide reports of its corporate structure. “The fact that these attacks come as we are mobilised to meet the greatest human tragedy in the history of Haiti only serves to perplex me,” Jean complained. “I live in [Haiti], I’m Haitian. This is where I come from.”

Wyclef Jean admits his Haiti charity ‘made mistakes’The former Fugee has acknowledged that his aid organisation, Yele Haiti, has made administrative errors, but insisted he has never personally benefited from the foundation’s work

Wyclef Jean … the Haitian-born musician admitted his organisation mismanaged donations. Diane

Wyclef Jean has responded further to allegations that his Yele Haiti Foundation mismanaged donations, admitting the aid organisation “made mistakes”. At a press conference in New York, the Haitian-born musician acknowledged administrative errors but insisted that he has never personally benefited from the foundation’s work.

Yele Haiti has become one of the most prominent aid groups in the aftermath of the 12 January earthquake that killed as many as 200,000 people in and around Port-au-Prince. Collecting more than $2m (£1.23m) through SMS fundraising, the organisation – founded by Jean – will also benefit from a major telethon on Friday. While they have not yet distributed any of these funds – saying they were overwhelmed by the volume of donations – Yele Haiti plans its first airlift for later this week.

Jean’s foundation came under fire following a report by the Smoking Gun, showing that between 2005 and 2007, they spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on services by companies owned by Yele’s directors. Jean responded with a YouTube video claiming the foundation had been given “a clean bill of health by an external auditor”.

“As a young NGO, have we made mistakes?” Jean asked in New York yesterday. “Yes. Did I ever use Yele money for personal benefits? Absolutely not.” Showing his Haitian passport and US green card, the former Fugees member emphasised that he founded the charity with his own funds. “I wanted to make sure that Yele would not just be a foundation, but would actually be an NGO on the ground in Haiti because it’s the only way I could be effective to the Haitian people.”

Yele president Hugh Locke said that he regretted the group’s early errors, such as delaying tax returns. He also addressed allegations that Jean collected a $100,000 performance fee for a 2006 benefit concert in Monaco. Although all of this money went to production costs and not into the musician’s pockets, Locke conceded that Yele should have insisted event organisers cover these expenses. “On the books, it looks as though there was a benefit, but there was not.” As with payments to companies linked with Yele, “it was not done with the intent to do anything other than be efficient”.

While accountants scrutinised Yele Haiti’s activities, Jean was in Haiti, arriving the day after the earthquake hit. “I’m not the one that was reporting the news,” he said. “I’m the one that was carrying dead bodies on the street. I’m the one that carried little girls to the morgue. And [when] they said, ‘The morgue don’t have room in here’ … we carried bodies to the cemetery.”

Jean called for “a massive exodus” from Port-au-Prince, proposing that survivors of the quake be brought to temporary camps outside of the capital. “I give you my word, if I tell them to go, they will go,” he said. “But they need somewhere to go.” By evacuating the city, workers would be able to accelerate clean-up and restoration projects. According to Locke, this plan is backed by Haitian president René Préval and prime minister Jean-Max Bellerive.

Jean also asked that the next phase of aid include security for reconstruction teams, as riots have begun to break out. “We do not have the solution, but we have the start to what I think the solution can be,” he said. “We’re going to be back on the ground on Saturday. And we’re going to be back on the ground every week until we [overcome] the situation.”
