This is a site to preserve and protect Black Culture worldwide. It is endangered both in Africa and in the Diaspora and we will fight to save Black Culture and the Black Race everywhere.
I am a Blackamerikkkan Sister who 28 years ago went “BACK TO AFRICA” AS Marcus Garvey inspired me to to raise 4 of my 5 children as Yorubas in Yorubaland,Nigeria. They have the language and culture thanks to my sacrifice and every Black person everywhere must do that for their children no matter where they are in white countries all over the world!

yeye,
how are you. i have known you since 1989 when i was a student of osun state college of education, ila orangun, then you were one of our library workers. then again we met in lagos sometimes in the year 2002 at alaroye office. then i was working with the alaroye. now as a sojourner in europe (italy to be precise) i now see that we can do more to rejuvenate awareness about the dwindling fortune of yoruba language and culture. you may be pleased to send your e mail address to me so that we can discuss further. as a yoruba teacher and journalist, we can do something togerther.

Dr. Finch is currently Director of Internation Health at the Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta. He maintains an active lecture schedule and leads tours to Africa periodically. He was one of the organizers of the first-ever Senegalese Ndepp healing ceremony in America, “Coumba Lamba USA,” held on St. Helena Island, South Carolina, in August 1996.
Book by Charles S. Finch III
Star of Deep Beginnings: The Genesis of African
Science and Technology
The prototechnology of the modern world is traceable to
iron ore mining 43,00 years ago in southern africa and to
the emergence of protomathmatics from Africa’s Great
Lakes region over 25,000 years ago. From these
Paleolithic beginnings, science and technology underwent a
steady development in Africa, and the remotest origins of
formal mathematics, astronomy, engineering, architecture,
navigation, and map-making can be found there.
Moreover, in the cosmo-conception of the Dogon of Mali,
there are distinct elements of knowledge that seem t ohave
anticipated some of the most advanced concepts of
modern physics. Outside the Nile Valley, 95% of the
known archaeological sites in Africa have remained
untouched by the spade. When the systematic work of
archaeological recovery of Africa’s past begins in earnest,
more astonishing facts about African science and
technology are bound to coome to light.

Echoes of The Darkland: Themes from the African Eden
Echoes of the Darkland is the first original book by Dr. Charles S. Finch III in
which the author attempts to trace the origin an evolution of humanity, its
culture, myths, and religion in Africa in light of modern findings. Dr. Finch has
been engaged in private research into African antiquities, comparitive myth and
religion, and anthropology since 1971 and this book represents a kind of
overview of that 20 year period of study. Such a study was neccessarily
private because of the use of special data and the methods handling disparate
materials demonstrated in this book are seldom, if ever, to be encountered in
the ordinary academic setting.

Okay, whatever you want me to change let me know,
Yeye. You also said you need help with your blog.
I can help you. What do you need help with?
Have you ever put your posts in part 1? and the
other in part 2?
March 13, 2008 at 4:14 pm |
What does post in part l mean?Look at my blog and see what help I need without paying dollars which I don’t have!
April 3, 2008 at 2:08 am |
Oh, I just check to see your question . I mean have you ever
wrote about something like this?:
Black woman skater named Surya Bonaly Part 1
Black woman skater named Surya Bonaly Part 2
The only reason people post part 1 and part 2
is because they try to break up the text So it
won’t seem like it’s alot. Sometimes people
get lazy and only read short posts. That’s what
I read on a blogging tips site.

I would really appreciate your help with answers to some questions, and from your posts I feel you are quite intimate with everything Yoruba. I could not find the right post in which to ask them.
(1) Can you help me with the meaning of Dawodu (Daodu)? For instance, the meaning of Dabiri can be derived from ‘Da-ibi-ri’.
(2) Under what circumstances can the name be Oruko Amutorunwa?
(3) Do you know of any oriki in which the name Dawodu features prominently?
I ask because I want to better understand the person of Oba Dawodu who is widely known today as David and who was the father of Solomon.
Regards,
YemiTom

I am enterested in where you received your info? Should I refer to God as Yah or should I call Him God, or Jesus. I want to know my true heritage. Who am I? Because of my extreme craving for the arts, I am an avid painter. It calms me. It is my excistance. So I paint. And I only assume that I am from this tribe but I want to know for sure. What was the language? Where was home?
April 9, 2012 at 1:06 am |
Egbon (pls, I don’t yet know the appropriate salutation to use),
Olodumare has given me the meaning of Daodu/Dawodu. It is “Eni to da odu (le). I have discussed it on my blog (http://yemitom.wordpress.com/2012/02/24/the-name-is-dawodu-not-david-part-ii/).
There is information that I’m sure you would be interested in:

I am of Barbadian descent born in Toronto Canada I and am coloured actually our family has been since 1782 , i have the slave document. Ilive in Canada and have been involved in a custody battle for my son. He is the spitting image of me ,for some reason the mother got pregnant she a white girl and decided to run back to Newfoundland and put a white mans name on him and baptise him they trying to pass him off as a white child.
Among other things the mother posted my sons picture
on a kkk website and stated in court she had never
heard of the kkk. The judge in his final ruling cited that
he is ” extremely concerned about the black heritage
and culture and my family being present around my
son”.
The mother also stated that because of my close connections with Barbados that it was my intention to abduct my son her lawyer echoed this concern apparently he believes Bajans abduct children, the judge then lied saying my father is in Barbados when i testified he was in Canada and terminally ill apparently the jusdge used this as an excuse to not allow my now deceased father to see his only grandson.
I am very proud of my black heritage but i am not allowed to teach my son the judge has made the mother and h boyfriend now husband cultural supervisors and they will determine what, when and where my son can learn about his race.
The judge describes me as a self identified black person.
I have no criminal record and work as an electrician in canadaand have been a foster parent but am not allow to see my son unless i show the man who put his name on my son appropriate respect and that it is in my sons best interest that this man who committed fraud keeps his name on my son he says me wanting my name on my son is chauvanistic towards the mothers choice.
I fight on i will not let whites tell me who or what i am or what i can teach my son, this white man owns my child . They treat us as slaves still and say i must accept them hurting my son , NO MORE.

I hope this gets to Shahrazad Ali gets this, because she’s such a coward there’s no way to contact her! If I were black, I would think she is a complete embarrassment to the entire race!! Does she just sit at home and think of things she can whine about and spew about how blacks are treated so poorly??? That lady is pathetic!! I’d like to ask if she was a slave??????? No, so shut up and let the country move on because you & the blacks like you are who REALLY cause the problems!!! WHAH WHAH WHAH WHAH!!!!!!
SHUT UP!!!!!!!
